We have all experienced the life-altering affects of the pandemic. In THIS INTERVIEW you’ll learn its toll on acclaimed entertainer Demi Grace.
The renowned singer, model and music producer took time to answer our “2000 BC Q&A”, reflecting on her life before COVID-19 and how things have changed personally and professionally since.
Tell us what you miss most from life before COVID-19.
I miss interacting with people in social settings like shows, festivals, clubs, planes, etc. I also really miss traveling freely.
Where were you when you learned about COVID-19 and how did you respond?
I was in New York, but it wasn’t that widespread yet, meaning nothing had been locked down and it was seen more like a joke. I was actually in L.A. when people started to lock it down.
What, for you, have been the personal and professional benefits, and setbacks, from the pandemic?
The benefits have definitely been having more time to work on my home studio and venture into other avenues.
The setback has definitely been live performances being cancelled.
Do you have faith in the vaccine?
I wouldn’t say I have faith in the vaccine like it’s my God. I have faith in God in that God wouldn’t let me put anything in my body that was ultimately going to destroy me. We’ve talked it through extensively.
Who do you talk to the most to keep your spirits up and help you stay optimistic?
My sister. She’s in my industry and has basically been mentoring me for years.
Has the pandemic caused you to value your life and the lives of others more than you did already?
Oh yes. The pandemic has really helped me see myself as someone who can help the world as opposed to someone who only needs help.
What about your immediate surroundings have you become more aware of?
I’ve become way more aware of the beauty of silence. I’ve also become more aware of how people treat each other.
What’s something that had to change because of the pandemic that you hope doesn’t change back once it’s over?
I hope people continue to look each other in the eyes. |THIS.
