Iconic standup comedian, prolific writer, and television star Conan O’Brien said farewell to his career in late night TV after 30 years. It’s not going to be the same without him.
His hilarious and often awkwardly goofy hit TBS show Conan wrapped after more than 4,000 episodes, sending Conan off to his future hosting a variety show on streaming service HBO Max.
I watched Conan nightly as the host of NBC’s Late Night, my viewership stuck with him as host of The Tonight Show, and I gladly followed him to TBS. Each of those stints made me laugh hysterically on numerous occasions.
Conan is one of my all-time favorite comedians and personalities because of his late night TV run and I’m grateful for all the enjoyment I got from him.
I also learned to be a fearlessly entertaining host by watching Conan. When I’m on stage I go above and beyond, even at the expense of my own embarrassment, to keep the audience smiling, enthused, and engaged.
