In a player-controlled poll, Lansing Lightning’s #90 Delmar Kittle was voted as the PLAYER OF THE WEEK!
Where did you start playing football? Did you play in high school or anywhere else before the Lansing Lightning such as college or another semi pro team?
[First] I played for Sexton High School, then I played for the Lansing Royals. After them I played for the Lansing Pilgrims Christian football programs.
What was the transition like between those teams?
The transitions were very easy, to be honest, man. Less competition, less players. [It was] very easy to focus on getting better at football.
What motivated you to play semi pro football?
At first, I wanted to get back out and see if I’ve still got it. To shake off some rust, you know? See if I was still a ball player. But after playing, after bonding with each and every teammate, y’all are my family. I play for y’all. So, there’s the answers to that question of what started to motivate me and what keeps me motivated.
What’s a major goal you want to hit this season?
One goal: Florida championship. And I want to get to the championship playing clean gentleman’s football. I want to throw someone on the ground during the play but help them up when the whistle blows and come together as one when the game is are over.
Tell us your favorite moment of your football career so far.
My favorite moment of my football career was two weeks ago when I showed up with 4 minutes left and had no equipment, but one of my teammates stripped everything down to allow me to play. That showed me how I feel about y’all was reciprocated. | THIS is for YOU!
