I think some people want to build their own things just so they can be in control of it, and so they can say they’re in charge and they can say they have ownership over it.

But I think what’s more important is if you can build something that you can handoff. If you choose to have kids, to your kids. Or to a next generation.

That’s what legacy is, right? It’s building something you can handoff to someone, and it continues to be your thing. It will be something that outlasts you and makes an impact even when you’re gone.

I’ve been really, really thinking about what do I really want to build. As I get older what do I want to build in the fields of arts, culture, and society.

What do I want to build that will last?

What are you building?
