I really hate that a lot of women are talking about my man better protect me like Will [Smith] did and slap somebody.
As a wife, I wouldn’t dare expect violence or subject my husband to any type of violence. I’d prefer my husband alive and unharmed. You have to develop a level of maturity and wisdom to know there are other ways to protect and defend your wife. That includes the power of walking away, calming down, and handling it later without slapping people.
We use our brains and talents to get back at people. We’ve got too much going for ourselves to jeopardize our assets, opportunities, future gains, relationships, and, most importantly, our freedom.
It ain’t never cool to put your hands on somebody just because they said something. And furthermore, our men have enough stressors they deal with. They already feel like they can’t cry, show emotion, or talk about their mental struggles and daily issues that need to be worked through.
Don’t add to his stress, making him feel as though he ain’t strong enough or man enough to be with you. I don’t think it’s wise or in anyone’s best interest to tell your man to get physical.
Now, of course, if you are physically assaulted or threatened, that’s different. But we can’t be risking the loss of life and other things over being triggered by a joke that you don’t find funny.
And if you are that chick, he might be better off without you because you ain’t protecting him either. We supposed to protect each other.
My husband ain’t gotta prove NATHAN for the world to see. I already know what it is.
