Last year was incredible for hip-hop artist Razz Na$-T and we’re excited for what he has in store here in 2020. The imaginative lyricist took time out his busy schedule to answer THIS questionnaire about his previous 12 months and what to expect from him in the months ahead.
THIS: How would you summarize 2019?
Razz Na$-T: 2019 was a tough but beautiful year for me. It began with the release of my proudest work, ‘THIS IS CROWS’, which was such a universal blessing. Many times I would listen back and remind myself to take my own advice. It encompassed the ending of many things, as well as, of course, the beginning of many things. I did a ton of traveling and met a lot of beautiful people along the way. Strengthened many friendships and learned a lot about myself and the world around me.
THIS: What was your favorite song of ‘19?
Razz Na$-T: [My] favorite song is not so easy. Favorite album was probably ‘Humble Pi’ by Homeboy Sandman and Edan. Two of my favorite MCs joining forces. What’s not to love?
THIS: What was your favorite movie?
Razz Na$-T: Favorite movie was one hundred percent ‘Mandy’. Nick Cage is good in bad movies, and bad in good movies. In ‘Mandy’ he was amazing in an amazing movie. ‘Blow’. So good. Favorite film of all time.
THIS: What’s the television show you couldn’t stop watching?
Razz Na$-T: ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ and ‘The Office’ are always top contenders.
THIS: What album got the most play?
Razz Na$-T: Although ‘Humble Pi’ was my favorite that dropped last year, I probably listened to ‘Stress: The Extinction Agenda’ by Organized Konfusion the most.
THIS: What did you Google the most?
Razz Na$-T: I don’t really google people over and over. Mostly I google shit to win arguments with my right-hand-man, OGOS. Too many times I prove myself wrong. Luckily, we don’t keep score.
THIS: What was the most shocking thing you heard all last year?
Razz Na$-T: That I didn’t win the Iowa State Fair Hog Calling Contest.
THIS: Tell us how you evolved over the last 12 months.
Razz Na$-T: I learned to let go for my own sake. I’ve grown and become more resilient mentally and spiritually. Dug into new ideas and ways of thought as well as implemented them into my everyday existence. Short and sweet without every single detail – another evolution in itself.
THIS: What was your biggest blessing last year?
Razz Na$-T: My friends and loved ones are and will always be my biggest blessing.
THIS: How do you teach someone to have better respect for the value of time?
Razz Na$-T: I don’t have any students, but if you watch the sunset and see how quickly the light dissipates, it can be quite moving.
THIS: What can we expect from you here in 2020?
Razz Na$-T: More weird music videos from Orange Cap and myself, for sure. Trying to film one for every song from ‘THIS IS CROWS’. More music from OGOS and I as well as collaborations with Nate Paulson, Sultan Satire, Cheddar Cheez, Burnout McGuyver, and hopefully more. I will be releasing a lot of singles this year as opposed to a new project to keep a steady flow for my fans. I have some material in the cannon that I am absolutely pumped about and can stand behind 100%. |THIS
