It is a blessing when remarkable persons that we admire make time to speak with us. Those shared interviews are reflections of us both, that’s why it’s imperative that what we ask matters.

One of those persons we were blessed to speak with was entertainment icon and WWE legend John Cena!

During our conversation before his fist WWE title win at WrestleMania 21 we asked him this GOOD QUESTION: What’s your goal with your album and your movie?

He answered, “I want to change the stigma sports entertainment has. ESPN don’t give us no props; mainstream media don’t give us no props. Anytime you see World Wrestling Entertainment in mainstream media it’s negative press. We never do anything good.

This is a company that’s gone from nothing to a billion-dollar industry without the help of anyone else. It’s time to recognize. That’s why I’m rocking Reebok Pumps instead of leather boots. I want Reebok on board. I want Reebok to see that wrestling is doing something alright. Same thing with Mitchell & Ness and their jerseys. I just want with this album, this movie, everything, for people to not turn their nose down on us.

Wrestling has evolved just like everything has evolved. Before, people would turn their nose down on hip hop. It’s entertainment. Wake up. If you don’t like what I’m doing, then change the f****** channel. But don’t disrespect me for what I’m doing.

I’m working just as hard, if not harder, than the next guy to put asses in the seats. There are people in the stands who show love and know what’s going on. We gotta let everybody outside the arenas know what’s going on and why we’ve been such a success for so long.” | THIS ENT
