Negativity and selfishness gets great publicity in our social networking, indirect-contact society. You’d be led to believe the world’s running low on good people and that no one cares for or respects one another anymore. Their only concerns are themselves; and when they’re in need, no one is willing to lend them a hand without reward.
This is not the case. Kind, caring, selflessly-generous people still exist. Urban Mystic is a shining example.
Brandon Williams is a superhero of sorts, one endowed with an especially powerful voice. As singer Urban Mystic he’s blessed with the ability to enchant, encourage, and inspire listeners through his Billboard-charting songs and albums. Soulful and sincere, it’s the messages in Mystic’s music that make his admires feel as though they’re super too.
While good at what he does, he’s also a good person and one who believes in helping others.
We asked Urban Mystic to tell us about a time when he did something nice for someone he didn’t know. THIS is what he shared.
“There’s so much that we do. We’ve got the Urban Mystic Kids Foundation that we do for the kids every year.
One particular year we went to Miami and were giving away Christmas gifts. One of the people’s houses we went to, she was handicapped.
It was so touching, man. It was amazing. I went in there and gave her a gift; we took her some bracelets and some games. It was just amazing to see how touched she was to be able to meet me. And it was amazing to me to know that she knew my music and knew who I was. It was all a great thing.
When I did that I felt it was something I wanted to do every year. It’s something I have to stick to.
So, I’m always giving back to the community, to the kids foundation, to the Boys & Girls Club, the recreation centers, the church; just to be able to say I gave back and to see people have something to look to.
So many people where I’m from, it may seem impossible to them to have someone do something for them. So when they actually get it it’s a beautiful feeling.” |THIS.
